Hurrican Ike

To our families and friends who are far away:

We are doing fine here in the Dallas area. Hurricane Ike struck on the coast probably a good 400 miles away. The after effects of the storm are to reach us this afternoon, with heavy rain and strong winds. There are possibilities of Tornadoes, but there is always a possibility of tornadoes when you live in the Heart of "Tornado Alley!"

It is amusing to watch the news. The weathermen are just drooling at their opportunity to be in the media spotlight and dramatizing everything. They are kind of like a bunch of Chicken Littles running around with microphones yelling "The Sky is falling."

Paul and Emma's Head Coach of the soccer team are upset that the officials cancelled all the games today. They wanted to toughen up their little 5 year old Diva Dolls and have them play in the rain. Honey, there is a reason why the word Diva is in the team name!

We'll be staying inside and staying dry. Let's hope the satellite doesn't go out, my three children (yes I am including my husband) won't know what to do with themselves. Once during a power outage in MO, we had to drive around in the car for an hour, in order to charge hubby's laptop so he could watch movies that afternoon.

Let me just say that canceling soccer because of a light sprinkle and a slight breeze is ridiculous. My Diva Dolls have trained for this and were prepared to play in any situation. All that time and money spent renting a wind machine and fire hoses for practice last week was wasted.

Watch out mother nature, the Diva Dolls are ready to play.
